Veterans and Their Families Speak Out
Speaking from the heart of the American Homefront, with drums and prayer led by Iraq War veteran Eli Painted Crow of Turtle Women Rising, families of Iraq and Afghanistan vets, and members of Military Families Speak Out (MFSO) will begin a cross-country conversation about love, war, and the war at home. We will caravan from LA to DC November 2-9, attend the Peace Congress on the 10th, and join Veterans For Peace on a Silent March on November 11 at 9:00 am, the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day. From there, we will go to the Constitution Center in Philadelphia, PA, to deliver folded flags to George W. Bush.
“It is time for this war in Afghanistan to end,” said General John W. Nicholson recently, as he was preparing to leave the country for the last time, having spent a total of 31 months—four tours— in Afghanistan as the commander in charge of a shape-shifting mission. Support the troops, America, bring them home now.
Featuring veterans and their families, the Heart2Heart Tour is spearheaded by Stacy Bannerman, MFSO National Steering Committee member and Women's EcoPeace Founder & CEO. Women's EcoPeace 501c3 is raising funds to help cover tour costs, including: promotional materials, travel expenses such as food, fuel, and housing; tour director stipend, etc.
Your generous gift will help veterans and their families start a long-overdue conversation on our trip across America.
